Tropical Inspo: Why You Have to Visit Fiji

There are almost endless reason why you have to visit Fiji. With its exotic ambiance and endless opportunities to relax, do sports, or simply socialize with some of the nicest people on the planet, Fiji is a must-see for every adventurer. From the very moment you are greeted with “Bula”, your trip will be filled with memorable sights, people, and events. If you’re looking for your next vacation destination, here are a couple of reasons why it should be Fiji.

You’d get to taste some delicious food

If you love trying out new types of food, then you will love Fiji. There are two main cuisines ‒ the indigenous Fijian and the Fijian Indian, (mainly focused on seafood, rice, chili, and spices). If you prefer to prepare your own food, there are produce markets in every main town filled with only the freshest and most delicious food. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to attend the Lovo Night at your hotel and see how they prepare food in an underground oven. Finally, don’t forget to try kava ‒ a traditional drink made from a natural herbal ground root. It might not taste that great, but it’s more about the tradition than the taste.

It offers a great working environment

If you consider yourself to be a busy digital nomad and you love working while traveling, then this is definitely one of the destinations you should visit. The calming nature, the friendly people, and the hammocks on gorgeous beaches create a perfectly peaceful atmosphere for work. When it’s time for a break, bask in the sun with a refreshing drink and let your mind and your body relax and recharge.

Whether you’re into diving and surfing, sunbathing or playing golf, there is something for everybody in Fiji. If you’re an adventurous type, you can try firewalking, or you can go on a journey up the stunning Sigatoka Valley. Visit villages and spend some time getting to know the Fijian culture and enjoying their customs (including lots of singing and dancing)!

It’s the best place to unwind

In case you’ve just finished high school and are looking for a way to celebrate and have some fun after all the studying, consider signing up for amazing Fiji schoolies. They are safe and include plenty of  interesting and educational activities. You’d be surrounded with lots of young people who want to have some fun, meet new friends, and enjoy some time away just like you.

It’s very romantic

We all know the struggle of finding the perfect romantic destination for the next vacation with our significant other. There is no way you can go wrong with Fiji! You’ll enjoy long walks on the gorgeous beaches, buy each other presents (like the lovely earrings and necklaces made of South Sea pearls), or spend a day together relaxing in one of the numerous tropical spas.

You’d be in the company of the happiest people in the world

Studies have shown that Fijians are amongst the happiest people on the planet. If you’ve been feeling a bit down lately or are simply searching for a new perspective in life, this is the place to be. Moreover, Fijians are known for their love of kids. Don’t hesitate to take your youngest family members with you and let them enjoy this experience as well. The happiness is guaranteed to rub off on you, and the only sadness you will feel is when its time to go home.

Apart from all the adventure, finger-licking food, fantastic nature, and amazing people, Fiji is a true paradise that simply has it all. If it’s not on your bucket list already, it should be. Visiting Fiji would is an experience guaranteed to cherish for the rest of your life.

Must Visit Locations in Australia

Australia is a big country full of natural wonders, laid-back cities and sandy beaches, and there are certain locations you must visit in order to experience that Aussie atmosphere and beauty. It doesn’t matter if you’re a serious traveler or just a simple tourist, we present to you the top locations in Australia.

The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is almost synonymous with Australia. It’s about 2,300 km long, making it a home for some of the rarest and most unique flora and fauna on Earth. Of course, you can’t see every part of the reef, but make sure to visit Whitsunday Islands that are simply gorgeous. Maybe the best way to see the reef is by taking a two- to three-day sailing tour. The Great Barrier Reef is full of scuba diving and snorkeling spots unique to the area and you will remember those sights forever.

Byron Bay

Byron Bay (1)

Byron Bay is not only popular with tourists, but it’s also a beloved vacation destination for many Aussies. It has many kilometers of sandy beaches, beautiful weather, surfing waves, scuba diving spots and many other attractions. Make sure you see the lighthouse in sunset and take some amazing photos or enjoy some music at the range of festivals all over the year. Byron Bay can be a bit crowded at times, but that’s normal for a top destination and a place as beautiful as this.

Uluru

Uluru

If you decide to visit Australia, you just have to see Uluru. Uluru is a huge sandstone formation surrounded by springs, waterholes, rock caves and ancient paintings. It’s a sacred place for the Aboriginal people from that area, full of magic and history, and is simply so magnificent you must see it too. You can take a guided tour from Adelaide that lasts about three beautiful days. You’ll get to see not only Uluru, but explore the natural wonders of Watarrka National Park, see boulders of Kata Tjuta and have beautiful meals under the stars. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Sydney

Sydney

You simply can’t visit Australia and not see Sydney! It offers so many interesting and beautiful sites to see. Enjoy the view of the famous Opera House from the Sydney Harbour, check out the Sydney Zoo and the renowned Mainly beach. If you want to see Sydney from above, visit Sydney Tower and enjoy a beautiful panorama of the whole city. If you’re young (or just young at heart) remember that Sydney’s one of the Australia’s nightlife centers. It has so many different clubs, bars or pubs that everybody will be able to find their favorite spot. When in Sydney, make sure to visit Randwick, especially if you’re a sports lover. Randwick is a suburb in Eastern Sydney that offers all kinds of different activities from chill walks to competitive team sports. But, make sure to take a walk along Randwick’s Coastal Walkway and enjoy wonderful views, and unique flora and fauna of the coastline. If you’re a surfer, you can try out the waves at Maroubra or Coogee Beach or simply enjoy surf carnivals from the shore. There are many Randwick serviced apartments located close to Randwick’s main attractions, so you don’t even have to worry about transport. Relax and have fun!

Melbourne

Melbourne

The indescribable atmosphere, art, multiculturalism, food and nightlife all make Melbourne a must-visit place in Australia. But, you simply must take a drive on the Great Ocean Road. What is interesting about this coastal road are the sights you’ll see on your way. Strong waves and winds over time created giant monoliths of rocks that are called the 12 Apostles. Now there are only eight standing, but are definitely worth seeing.

Australia has so many things to offer, and every traveler will find something to spark their interest. Start planning your trip and pick the hotels that suit your budget and your itinerary. Welcome to the Land Down Under and enjoy!

5 Fictional Destinations You Can Actually Visit

There’s something magical about seeing the real life setting of a beloved fictional world. These destinations draw travelers to places they might not otherwise go for the pleasantly jarring sensation of finding Tatooine in Tunisia or Narnia in Norway. Here are five of our favorite places that serve as intersections of invention and reality, mixing the familiar with the surprising.

Mdina, Malta: King’s Landing (Game of Thrones)

Westeros may be fictional, but Game of Thrones fans know the series films everywhere from Iceland to Croatia to recreate locations from the books. The medieval walled city of Mdina in Malta acts as King’s Landing in the show, and travelers may recognize the Mdina Gate as the entrance to the fictional capital. Mdina’s dusky stone buildings and mix of Norman and Baroque architecture lend it a mysterious and mythic quality that translates perfectly into the show. It’s known as the “Silent City:” No cars are allowed within the city walls, and only about 300 people live inside.

Prince Edward Island: Anne of Green Gables

Since Anne of Green Gables was published in 1908, children and adults have made the pilgrimage to Canada’s lovely Prince Edward Island, where the book is set. The Green Gables farmhouse that inspired L.M. Montgomery’s classic books still stands in Cavendish (named Avonlea in the books) and can be visited year round. Even Mindy Kaling is desperate to see where Anne grew up. In a recent interview with the LA Times, she said, “The other book world I would like to live in is Anne of Green Gables. Living on Prince Edward Island would be so badass.”

Petra, Jordan: Canyon of the Crescent Moon (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade)

It’s hard to imagine a more imposingly beautiful filming location for a grail quest than the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. Although Petra was carved into sandstone 2,000 years ago, it only came to the attention of the Western world in 1812 when Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt disguised himself in Bedouin costume to sneak into the site. The Treasury, Al-Khazneh, was most famously used inIndiana Jones and the Last Crusade and is still open for visitors.

Angel Falls in Venezuela: Paradise Falls (Up)

Paradise Falls is the central destination Pixar’s Up. Carl’s beloved Ellie never gets to see it herself, but with the help of about 10,000 balloons, Carl and Russell manage to make the trip. Its real life counterpart is Angel Falls in Venezuela, part of the Auyantepui mountain in Canaima National Park. At a height of over 3,000 feet, it’s the tallest uninterrupted waterfall in the world. The hike to see the falls from the top can be a multi-day journey, but the stunning view is worth the trek.

Matamata, New Zealand: Hobbiton (The Lord of the Rings)

Perhaps the most famous fictional travel destination is the Hobbiton set of Peter Jackson’s adaptations of The Lord of the Rings. Nestled in the countryside surrounding Matamata in New Zealand, the set features over 30 hobbit dwellings as well as a mill and a double-arched stone bridge. After The Hobbit movies finished filming, the houses were left fully furnished for visitors. Truly devoted fans can even enjoy Second Breakfast at the nearby Shire’s Rest Cafe.

Discover the Wonders of Tahiti

This may be a cliché, but I always wanted to go to Tahiti and to visit French Polynesia. Who didn’t, right? I know, but I saved and saved and finally I got the money, found the time and was off to this amazing place. Imagine the photos of Bora Bora that stare at you from magazines and Internet travel sites? Well, the reality is even better. For those that  have the same dream as I do, here is are the best things about this amazing place.

Tahiti1

Culture of Tahiti

The first thing that comes to mind are the beaches and the nature, and that is fine, but the amazing culture somehow gets forgotten. The culture of Tahiti includes the amazing Marae stones. These were used as gathering places, something like temples. There was worshipping, of course, but they had social meaning as well. Visiting them and seeing how naturally they blend into the environment is really something. It seems that everybody knows about the tattoos and since I waited so long to visit Tahiti, it seemed like appropriate thing to do – I got a small tattoo while I was there.

Underwater World

If you haven’t been scuba diving, Tahiti is the best place to do it. The only problem is that once you go scuba diving, or surfing for that matter, you will hardly find another place on this earth that comes near to that experience. I am a keen surfer and I had the waves of my life there. As for the scuba diving in Tahiti, this is something that you just have to try. It is beyond words.

Tahiti2

Islands

Of course, Mor’ea, Huahine and Rangiroa are perfect and you have to visit them, but the one and only Bora Bora will make you feel like you are not on this planet. It is obvious why people choose this destination for their honeymoon. The nature and the beaches seem secluded and very private and the feeling of beauty overcomes you. The turquoise lagoon and rainforests made me feel I was the last person on this world, and in a good way.

Tahiti3

Housing and Food

As for the accommodation and food, you should check out your budget. I saved a lot because I wanted to be able to feel and eat whatever I wanted. People can choose between a variety of accommodation in Tahiti, depending on their needs and financial abilities. It can be expensive or cheap, but it’s bound to be wonderful. I stayed at a small family hotel which was very nice and perfectly clean. The owners were extremely friendly and they showed me some of the local dishes. I just couldn’t get enough of the lime marinated tuna, but chicken with taro leaves was pretty close.

Tahiti4

People, just like the nature in Tahiti, are friendly and amazing. They smile all the time; are respectful and hospitable. This has definitely been the most amazing trip of my life and I plan on repeating it as soon as possible, now that I know more and want more from Tahiti and the perfect and unreal Bora Bora islands.

Sunset in Paradise – Samujana

You know when I travel somewhere on a vacation, I like a specific place, but every other year I want to go somewhere else because of that “been there, done that” feeling. With this unique place, everything is different. Samujana just embraces you and holds you for a lifetime. You want to do it all over again. So, this year I spent my vacation in Samujana. If you’re asking me where I’ll be going next year, the answer is the same: Samujana. Why, you might ask? I will try to answer that as best I can.

LipaNoi3

It’s chic and exotic. The first thing I was seeing when I woke up every day was a coral cove. It can’t get more exotic, right? Wrong. Everything about this place just screams with luxury and adventure. The architecture of the 27 Samujana’s villas is divine. Both their appearance and functionality is at an exceptional level. Though every villa is slightly different in appearance, they all have the same conveniences, such as a big space that can accommodate a large family, a kitchen, amazing bedrooms, outdoor living space, a cinema room and more.

koh-Samui-Sunset -Lounge-647x430

It has a wide range of possibilities. Whether you have decided to have your wedding reception here, or just wanting a private and restful retreat, Samujana is your place. If you, however, want to take advantage of your paradise vacation by getting fit, you are offered a choice of sports, fitness and yoga. My choice was tennis, because I personally love that sport, and I just couldn’t resist their top notch tennis courts. There are programs for groups and families, but you may choose ones for your personal fitness goals.

This is nature at its finest. Believe me when I tell you, the sights I saw on Samujana, are the most amazing ones I’ve seen in my life. I would pay millions just to experience the excitement and the fascination of seeing it again for the first time. The whole island of Koh Samui, where this resort is located, is rich in culture and nature and is eco-friendly, which in these days is very important. I hope that, while you’re reading this, you are starting to consider the possibility of visiting. If you’re looking to travel to Koh Samui, you can find pretty much anything you need on this blog. That’s how I found out everything before my vacation.

It has the most perfect sunset ever. I’m usually a “hard to impress” guy, but this sight is heart-stopping, as it is everywhere in Thailand. It was one of the most picturesque sunsets I ever saw. It’s enough to look at it for a while to feel all the joy of living on this planet and to be grateful for the opportunity to escape the “concrete jungle” we normally spend our days in.
