We could all use a little (or a lot) self care, especially in these crazy times. Before the pandemic, workouts were pretty routine, be it gym based, fitness classes, running groups, etc. While we are not back to normal yet, a good workout is still golden. Working up a good sweat and clearing your mind of all things (including covid). As travel gets moving again, I’m looking forward to squeezing in a good workout as I discover new destinations on my travels. It’s time to get out of the old sweats and get some fresh gym gear. Born Tough is a clothing company with a great line of gym and active wear. And Elite Sports has martial arts gear, gym bags and accessories. Here are my thoughts:
Born Tough Air Pro 2 in 1 Shorts
I’m guilty of wearing any old pair of gym shorts. Obviously, if you are at home and doing a home workout, it doesn’t matter much. You are on your own and there’s no one to see you in your old well worn stuff. But if you want to be a bit more serious at home, or be seen outdoors or in a gym, then these are the shorts to get. Whatever it is that you do for exercise, these shorts will help get you over the finish line. They have an inner compression layer and a light outer Air pro layer. They stretch with you and have a towel/shirt loop, inner phone pocket and back zipped pocket. They fit great and look cool.
Elite Sports Boxing Gear Gym Bag
A gym bag is a gym bag. But this one is different. Although it’s labelled as a boxing gear gym bag, it can be used for anything, workout or otherwise. There are 2 small pockets on the side for key passes, wallet, etc. On either end are large pockets for post-work-out clothing (vented) and the other for shoes. The middle main compartment has plenty of room for whatever else you have. It’s the perfect spot for my Tesalate workout towel. This gym bag is well made with heavy duty stitching and zippers.
Let’s get back to the future and the new world that’s waiting out there. Your workout awaits. Both Born Tough and Elite Sports have high quality functional products for home, outside, travel, or gym. And they are great value. They rate a solid 9 out of 10 for functionality, appearance and price. It’s time to look the part again and get some new workout gear. If you are like me, you appreciate getting quality for your hard-earned money. And if you ride a motor bike, you know how important quality bike gear and accessories are. A quality helmet, jacket, and pants for safety. Ideally you want quality, safety, functionality and good looks all in one package. If you are looking for a one stop shop for motorcycle gear, Viking Cycle has it all – jackets, vests, gloves, and more. Viking Cycle products have a strong focus on quality, safety, functionality, good looks and value. But Viking Jackets really stand out.
Overall Impressions of the Viking Cycle Ironborn Textile Jacket
The Viking Cycle Ironborn Textile Jacket is a top seller and great choice from their product line. It is well made and sturdy. The fit is just about perfect. I’m 6’1″ and 190 lbs. and a size large jacket fits me very well. There are several ways to further adjust the fit, including 2 straps on each sleeve secured by snaps, side straps at the waist, cuff straps at the wrists, and a neck strap. The zippers have large enough tabs that they can be used while wearing gloves. Overall, the jacket is fairly light and feels really comfortable on. The ventilation system is well thought out to provide cooling on those warm summer days. And the detachable liner is easily put back into the jacket for extra warmth on colder days.
If you are new to riding, or looking for an extra jacket, you can’t go wrong with the Viking Cycle Ironborn Jacket. And if you are going on a motorcycle tour, this is the jacket to get. Sure, there are lots of jackets out in the market, but this Viking Cycle jacket is superior quality and very affordable. There really is nothing not to like about this jacket!
Looks great – you look the part when you where this jacket. It is very stylish and smart looking.
Functionality – there are pockets for everything and pockets for ventilation. There is a phone and earplug pocket with wire guide. A pen holder pocket and a large inside pocket for just about anything. There are 6 vent pockets – 2 on the front; 2 on the sleeves and 2 on the back. When it’s hot out, you can still wear this jacket in comfort.
Safety – this jacket is a well designed motorcycle jacket with safety in mind. It’s made to keep you safe with extra padding where needed and with a polyurethane coating to provide extra resistance against any possible road rash.
Price – at a price under $100, it is great value and you certainly won’t have any buyer’s remorse.
It’s a motorcycle jacket – you could just wear it around town, but it really makes the most sense if you are getting on or off a bike.
Safety pads – the moulded safety pads in the elbows, back and shoulder seem a little thin compared to other jackets. That said, they are CE approved armor, and no doubt would do the job. The armor is just something to get your head around.
All in all, a great motorcycle jacket. I rate it a solid 9+ out of 10. It’s a really good looking jacket. It’s a highly functional motorcycle jacket with its pockets, vents, liner and safety features. And it’s a great value. You get it all with this Viking Cycle jacket! It is available in a variety of colors and trims. Get yours here – Viking Ironborn Men’s Motorcycle Jacket.
One thing all travelers are currently asking is – is it the right time to travel again? The answer to this question depends on your location and desired destination. Some parts of the world have been affected by the pandemic more severely than others. So, it would be best to wait a bit longer to be safe. After all, we waited this long. What are a couple of months more? However, just because we cannot travel right now, that does not mean that you cannot start planning for your upcoming trip. You can use this time to dig deep and research all the mesmerizing places virtually before visiting. And, while you are researching, it won’t hurt to get some ideas regarding souvenirs. This article is here to help you with that. Here are 10 original souvenirs to take home from a journey.
1. Argentina – Leather Items
Argentina is famous for many things, and leather is one of them. So, next time you find yourself in this amazing country, be sure to pick up some leather items. Those can be shoes, belts, bags, wallets, or even watch straps. And, do not worry, you will not get scammed – the leather pieces from Argentina are of excellent quality, so do not hesitate to pay a bit extra.
2. China – Teapots
If you decide to travel to China, one of the most original souvenirs you can come home with is a Chinese teapot. These can be found pretty much anywhere in China. Their prices vary depending on their quality, of course. If you have some extra spending money in your budget, we recommend getting teapots made from Chinese porcelain. And, if you want a complete collection to give you the ultimate tea-drinking experience, you can also get teacups in matching painted sets. And don’t forget to buy some Chinese green or black tea. All of these make for excellent birthday gifts for travelers, too, so keep that in mind if you want to buy a gift for someone special.
3. England – Cadbury’s Chocolate
Even though Belgium is the world’s chocolate capital, many people argue that England can participate in the competition. But it is not just any chocolate – it is the famous Cadbury’s chocolate. This will also be a perfect gift to an American as this chocolate can no longer be found in the USA.
4. Belgium – Lace
Speaking of Belgium, this country has a lot more to offer than just chocolate. For instance, Belgium is known for its authentic, hand-made lace and tapestry. Some of the most intricate laceworks can be found in the cities of Brussels and Bruges. You can take this lace home and make curtains, table spreads, or some of the most beautiful pieces of clothing out of it. But, let us warn you – Belgium’s lace comes with a hefty price tag!
5. France – Macarons
It is no secret that France is famous for its cheeses, pastries and desserts. Some of those famous pastries include Croissants, Éclairs, Crepes, Crème Brûlée, etc. However, one dessert found its way to all of our hearts. The one and only – Macarons. These delectable pieces of heaven come in many colors and flavors. You can buy them almost anywhere throughout France. And even though they look delicate, they will survive the ride home.

Besides food, alcohol and other popular drinks are some of the original souvenirs to take home from a journey. Most tourists travel to Germany during Oktoberfest. This festival is an excellent opportunity to dance, eat, drink, and simply have fun. Unfortunately, Oktoberfest was not held last year due to the pandemic. Nobody knows what will happen this year, but do not let that stop you from visiting Germany. It is a common travel myth that all the attractions are closed now. They are not! You can still try Germany’s famous beers and buy a beer stein as your souvenir.
8. Italy – Venetian Masks
If you are looking for souvenirs you can buy that will not only stay on your fridge or your key chains, consider looking for pieces that serve a purpose. So, for example, when in Italy, consider investing in a Venetian Mask. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. And, they can be used as art pieces for your home, not only as souvenirs. You can use them to add a personal touch to your office or your living room.
9. Morocco – Ceramic Items
Morocco is a country famous for being one of the most popular honeymoon destinations. It is also famous for hand-painted ceramic items. Most often, you will see colorful bowls being sold on the streets. But, you can find pretty much anything made of ceramics – mugs, glasses, pots, figurines, and even tiles. What makes them so unique is the color choice and various intricate floral and geometric designs.
10. Russia – Lacquer Box
One of the most popular souvenirs to buy in Russia is the Matryoshka doll. But, this doll has become a cliché over the years as everybody buys it. So, when in Russia, instead of buying a doll set, consider purchasing the Lacquer box. This is a fantastic souvenir to take home. It too comes in many colors and sizes, but what makes it unique are the pictures from Russian fairy tales drawn on it.
